Welcome to the Thusday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. Tonight we have a seven-game slate to dig through four our daily fantasy hockey needs. We’re seeing four of the seven games tonight tagged with a 6 over/under — so it could be a wild night of back and forth action.

Tonight’s Slate:

Los Angeles Kings @ Washington Capitals (Washington, -135, 5.5 over/under)
Montreal Canadiens @ Detroit Red Wings (Detroit, -115, 5.5 over/under)
Vegas Golden Knights @ Minnesota Wild (Minnesota, -175, 6 over/under)
Vancouver Canucks @ Nashville Predators (Nashville, -200, 5.5 over/under)
Dallas Stars @ Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago, -145, 6 over/under)
Arizona Coyotes @ Calgary Flames (Calgary, -220, 6 over/under)
Toronto Maples Leafs @ Edmonton Oilers (Even, 6 over/under)

The team I have the most interest in tonight is the Calgary Flames — and for tournament purposes I’m interested in both sides of this game. Tonight the Flames get an Arizona team that has allowed a league-worst 3.59 goals against per game, 3.56 goals against per game on the road, and a middle of the pack penalty kill with a kill rate of 80.3 percent. On the season Arizona has a SCA/60 of 28.66, and a league seventh-worst 11.85 HDCA/60. On the road, in 5v5 situations, the Coyotes have a league 11th-worst xGA/60 of 2.58.

Arizona has lost three of their last four games and have allowed seven goals over their past two games. At home Calgary has scored 2.92 goals for per game but have also allowed 3.25 goals against per game at home. Furthermore, Calgary has a terrible penalty kill percenate of 69.4 percent when on home ice. This is why, while I will certainly lean on Calgary here, I do have interest in Arizona skaters for my tournaments.

On the season Calgary has a SCF/60 of 31.4 — fourth-highest in the NHL — and their HDCF/60 of 11.6 is 11th-highest in the NHL. Their CF% of 51.73 percent is ninth-best in the league while Arizona’s CF% of 47.72 percent is the fifth-worst in the NHL. The puck should tilt in Calgary’s favor on home ice tonight and we’re seeing that agreement with Calgary listed as the heavy Vegas favorite and a 6 over/under.
