Welcome to the Thursday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. Today we have a nice seven-game slate to work with for our daily fantasy hockey needs. Two teams really stand out tonight as teams I will target as the basis for my roster construction.

Tonight’s Slate:

Montreal Canadiens @ Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa Bay, -240, 6 over/under)
Philadelphia Flyers @ Florida Panthers (Florida, -115, 5.5 over/under)
Boston Bruins @ Washington Capitals (Washington, -125, 5.5 over/under)
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Arizona Coyotes (Toronto, -180, 6 over/under)
Vegas Golden Knights @ L.A. Kings (L.A., -145, 5.5 over/under)
Chicago Blackhawks @ Vancouver Canucks (Chicago, -130, 5,.5 over/under)
Calgary Flames @ San Jose Sharks (San Jose, -120, 5.5 over/under)

The first team I want plenty of exposure tonight is the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tonight the Lightning are home against a Montreal team that has allowed a league seventh-worst 3.20 goals against per game this month. Additionall, Montreal is a tier among the worst penalty kill units this month with a kill rate of just 76.7 percent. Montreal’s CF% over their past 10 games sits a lowly 48.91 percent while Tampa Bay boasts a CF% of 56.26 percent. We should see the puck tilt heavily in Tampa’s favor tonight.

While Stamkos and Kucherov will certainly be popular plays tonight — and rightfully so — we can look to some secondary scoring to get exposure to Tampa Bay in our tournaments. Tyler Johnson has eight points in his past 10 games while Brayden Point also has eight points in his past 10 games.

Over their past 10 games the Lightning have a SCF/60 of 36.96 — best in the NHL. And their HDCF/60 of 12.67 sits as the fourth-highest in the league.

Tampa Bay has the highest implied goal total of the night and I will certainly lean on Tampa Bay in both cash games and tournaments tonight. We also get Montreal on the second night of a back-to-back tonight.
