It is only fitting that we end this week of small hockey slates with yet another three-game night to dig through for our DFS needs.

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Columbus Blue Jackets (even, 6 over/under)
Colorado Avalanche @ Carolina Hurricanes (Carolina, -240, 5.5 over/under)
Florida Panthers @ Anaheim Ducks (Anaheim, -150, 5,5 over/under)

While we have some bigger names in the Pittsburgh vs. Columbus game, the team I have the most interest in tonight is the Carolina Hurricanes. Tonight they get a Colorado team on the second night of a back-to-back. Colorado has allowed 3.14 goals per game when they are on the second night of a back-to-back and have a goal differential of -1.71. On the road this season Colorado has allowed a league third-highest 3.37 goals against per game and this month have allowed 3.29 goals per game.

Carolina hasn’t set the world on fire with 14 goals allowed (and only seven goals scored) over their past three games but Colorado could goal-drought-buster Carolina needs. Per naturalstattrick, on the road Colorado has SCA/60 rate of 29.41 — ninth-highest in the NHL over the past 10 games. The Hurricanes at home, over that same time frame, have a SCF/60 rate of 31.29 — second most in the league. Carolina should see plenty of scoring chances tonight and I’ll be sure to have plenty of shares of Carolina skaters in my lineups:

Line 1:

Sebastian Aho $5.9K (17G, 15A, 9 PPP, 137 SOG)
Jordan Staal $5.5K (11G, 19A, 4 PPP, 100 SOG)
Elias Lindholm $5.1K (5G, 22A, 6 PPP, 93 SOG)

Line 2:

Jeff Skinner $6.2K (18G, 19A, 12 PPP, 181 SOG)
Victor Rask $4.6K (13G, 19A, 7 PPP, 122 SOG)
Lee Stempniak $3.7K (10G, 15A, 4 PPP, 84 SOG)

We also can’t ignore the 15 goals against over just four games this month on the Carolina end. Last month Carolina did allow 3.31 goals against per game — seventh-most in the NHL, so there is certainly merit in grabbing shares on Colorado skaters on such a small slate. I’ll likely keep my exposure to
