After a small three-game slate last night we’re back with a nice 11-game slate to dig through for our daily fantasy hockey needs. There are plenty of spots to look to tonight when you are constructing your lineups. I’ve bolded some of my top choices I’ll look to when constructing my own lineups:

Carolina Hurricanes @ Washington Capitals (Washington, -200, 5 over/under)
Calgary Flames @ Pittsburgh Penguins (Pittsburgh, -220, 6 over/under)
Montreal Canadiens @ Colorado Avalanche (Montreal, -180, 5 over/under)
Dallas Stars @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Toronto, -125, 6 over/under)

The first team I want to target tonight is the Washington Capitals. Last month the Capitals led the NHL with 65 goals and averaged 4.33 goals per game. Washington has not shown any signs of slowing down with 13 goals over their last three games — with two power play goals. In January Carolina allowed 3.31 goals per game and their goaltenders have a combined save percentage of just .882 — fourth-worst in the NHL. On the season Carolina has allowed 3.00 goals per game on the road. After five straight losses, Carolina has been better over their past three games with three-straight wins and just six goals allowed over that time — and they could make for a tournament play as they have also scored 12 goals over that time — but the safe play here is Washington. And we only have to go back to Jan. 23 for the most recent meeting between these two teams. Washington took care of business to the tune of a 6-1 victory.

Our Washington Stacks:

Alex Ovechkin $8.9K (25G, 23A, 15 PPP, 206 SOG)
Nicklas Backstrom $6.8K (15G, 38A, 20 PPP, 96 SOG)
T.J. Oshie $6.9K (20G, 15A, 7 PPP, 92 SOG)

Line 2:

Marcus Johansson $4.7K (16G, 18A, 8 PPP, 76 SOG)
Evgeny Kuznetsov $7.1K (11G, 31A, 8 PPP, 104 SOG)
Justin Williams $5.3K (18G, 12A, 6 PPP, 109 SOG)

As a tournament option on the Carolina end you can look to:
