Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. Today we have a nice 11-game slate to work with for our daily fantasy hockey needs. There are a few games I want to target tonight for the basis of most of my roster construction:

Buffalo Sabres @ Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, -230, 5.5 over/under)
Anaheim Ducks @ Vancouver Canucks (Anaheim, -180, 5 over/under)
Winnipeg Jets @ New Jersey Devils (New Jersey, -110, 5.5 over/under)

The first team on my radar tonight are the Columbus Blue Jackets. Buffalo is on the second night of a back-to-back and since the All-Star break have allowed 2.85 goals per game. When Buffalo is on the second night of a back-to-back they have allowed a league third-worst 3.25 goals per game. On the road this season Buffalo has allowed a league 11th-most 2.97 goals against per game and have the third-highest xGA/60 of 2.83 when on the road this season. Over their past 10 games Buffalo has a SCA/60 rate of 34.13 — worst in the league. Buffalo’s HDCA/60 of 14.63 is also the highest in the NHL. We can expect Columbus to see plenty of scorning chances tonight against a Buffalo team that has allowed an NHL 10th worst 2.83 goals against per game this month.

Our big caveat here is that Columbus has struggled over their past three games scoring just four goals … but they have scored seven goals in their past two games against Buffalo (four goals on March 10, three goals on March 11). My thought here, at least for tournaments, is that Columbus could go overlooked in a nice matchup against Buffalo because of their recent struggles.
