Welcome to the Friday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. I hope you have had a profitable week. We end the week with a tidy seven-game slate to dig through for our daily fantasy needs. Two games really stand out tonight as ones you will want to target as the basis of your roster construction — at least for your cash games.

Washington Captials @ Arizona Coyotes (Washington, -260, 5.5 over/under)
St. Louis Blues @ Colorado Avalanche (St. Louis, -223, 5 over/under)

The first team I have interest in tonight are the Washington Capitals. Tonight the Capitals get the lowly Arizona Coyotes and while Washington will certainly be a popular play they are still a team I will look to stack in my cash games. Since the All-Star break Arizona has allowed a league fourth-worst 3.25 goals against per game and this month, over the course of 15 games, have allowed 46 goals. Over their past 10 games Arizona has a SCA/60 of 34.34 — second-worst in the NHL. Arizona’s HDCA/60 of 12.79 over their past 10 games is the fourth-worst in the NHL and their CF% of 43.36 percent over the past 10 games is dead last in the NHL. Additionally, Arizona’s xGA/60 since Jan. 1 is 3.25 — highest in the league.

On the other side we have a Washington team that has scored a league fourth-best 3.27 goals for per game since the All-Star break. This month, over the course of 14 games, Washington has scored 40 goals — 14 of which have come on the power play. Over their past 10 games Washington has a CF% of 54.36 — fourth-best in the NHL. We should see this game tilt heavily in Washington’s favor with plenty of scoring chances, and for our DFS purposes hopefully a good number of quality power play chances.
