Whatever confidence we had in a high-scoring group of games from last week has evaporated, as we actually have a handful of defensive matchups on deck. We also have some weather to consider, but, as always, there are some places to look for offense.
A Note from Mario: Like basically the rest of the week, my picks split at 2-2. I will continue to provide these picks as I see fit, but please do your research and play responsibly.
In the world of daily fantasy roster construction, ‘stacking’ players from the same team can often lead to big results. In this column of games to target in Week 8, Luke and Mario will give their thoughts on a few games that are worth watching for fantasy purposes, and whether they like the value or feel the game is getting too much attention.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills were so many people’s sweetheart team this year, and after their offense cruised through the first month of the season, against mostly terrible teams besides the Rams, everyone felt so vindicated in their feelings. Since then, the Bills have shown what we have been expecting all along: a team that has talent and some explosive pieces, but is clearly still a work in progress. In their last three games, the Bills have scored 16, 17 and 18 points respectively. Last week, they did pile up a ton of yards, but I cannot give them too much credit for doing that against the Jets, and I can fault them heavily for failing to get into the endzone for the entire game. The Patriots’ defense has not been anywhere near the dominant group we saw all of last season, but they are also still a decent group that is run by the best Head Coach in all of football. I’m fully willing to put my money on Bill Belichick figuring out how to prepare his defense to shut down a division opponent in a must win game. While my confidence in Belichick remains high, my confidence in their offense has all but disappeared. Cam Newton has struggled mightily since returning, and there are simply no real play-makers in that entire offense. That is going to be amplified by the fact that Julian Edelman is out for at least this week and N’Keal Harry is looking unlikely to play as well. There is really not much to like in this game at all, and this is one of the easier games of the week to fade completely.
