It wasn’t the full recovery I would have liked to see, but it was nice to have the ‘traps’ work where they should have last week. This, after arguably the most disappointing second week of a season I can remember.

As I wrote in my previous column, this is not a bad sign. There is now a better chance that the value we normally find in the first few weeks of the season can stretch over the next handful. Because, even though we have three games with which to draw conclusions for each team, it appears as if the football-watching world is taking its time making certain commitments.

That’s exactly what we want because we are not afraid to lean into what makes certain picks uncomfortable.

Below are predictions for each game against the spread. Spreads have been taken from various websites and are subject to change. The spread in parenthesis denotes the selected team. Spread is listed as advertised number and odds at either DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, or Fanatics Sportsbook (formerly PointsBet). All efforts were made to provide picks at -110 or better, with some stretching to a -125 if no reasonable advertised spread was found.
