Week 17 is always filled with the most uncertainty, but we are always grateful for the amount of games from which to choose. Even if a half-dozen teams decide to rest their starters, we have no problem finding players for our rosters. In fact, there are so many viable options at a low price that we can actually afford some of the more expensive targets.
Based on our expected Week 17 DFS game flow analysis and Week 17 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 17 Plays:
Quarterback
Deshaun Watson – We have been hammering Deshaun Watson lately, and there is absolutely no reason to stop now. Since Week 11, Watson has had just one game in which he was held below 24 fantasy points, and in that same stretch, he has surpassed 30 points in three of six games. Watson continues to have productive fantasy performances because he has the ideal trio of circumstances that we love in quarterbacks: a horrible defense that always has his team playing from behind, plenty of arm talent to make plays through the air, and consistent rushing production to elevate his fantasy floor and ceiling. This week is another great setup for Watson against the Titans as their offense should score at will, and their defense is hardly intimidating. When Watson faced the Titans in Week 6, he went off for 335 passing yards and four passing touchdowns while adding an extra 26 yards on the ground. He should be locked in as one of the top quarterbacks as of Week 17.
Lamar Jackson – We generally like to lean on quarterbacks whose volume as a passer will be exceptionally high in a given week. That is not the case with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Instead, his volume with his legs will likely take the lead as he tries to secure his team another playoff berth. The matchup is excellent against a poor Cincinnati Bengals defense, but the importance of the moment is what has us most intrigued. Throughout his career, Jackson has shown that he will run whenever he gets the opportunity, and he tends to fall back on this skill as the stakes are raised — sometimes to his detriment. On Sunday, he will likely use his legs both to establish and maintain a lead, and it raises his fantasy ceiling in the process.
Drew Lock – While much of this week’s focus will be on the teams with something on-the-line, we’ll never shy away from a team with a fantastic setup. This week, that team is the Denver Broncos against a horrible Las Vegas Raiders defense. The Broncos have been unreliable throughout the year, but still have their moments in which the offense thrives. That likely can’t happen without quarterback Drew Lock, as the team is 2-1 when he throws for at least 270 yards. Most importantly, Lock is laughably priced, where he allows extreme salary flexibility — especially if paired with one of his wide receivers.
