Welcome to the Friday the 13th version of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. We have a nice seven-game slate to work with tonight with two games I want shares of on both sides and a few teams I think we can stack against in our tournaments.

Chicago Blackhawks @ Washington Capitals (Washington, -145, 5 over/under)
Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Rangers ( New York, -150, 5.5 over/under)

are the two games I think give us the most DFS potential tonight.

The Blackhawks and Capitals are both in play tonight but I’ll surely be leaning on Washington as the cornerstone of many of my lineups tonight. In six games this month Washington has scored 23 goals — four on the power play — and have been rolling over their current seven-game win streak. Going back to Dec. 1 the Capitals have scored four or more goals 10 times. Going back to Dec. 31 they have scored five or more goals four times. And they have done this against solid competition including a 5-0 victory over Columbus, a 4-1 victory over Carey Price and the Canadiens, and a 5-2 victory over Pittsburgh.

In 5v5 situations, with the score tied, Chicago has an xGA/60 of 2.52. This puts them on a tier with Dallas, Detroit, Carolina, Philadelphia and Colorado. This puts Washington’s first two even strength lines squarely in play tonight in our tournaments:

First Line Stack:

Alex Ovechkin $8.9K (21G, 14A, 11 PPP, 163 SOG)
Nicklas Backstrom $6.8K (11G, 27A, 16 PPP, 82 SOG)
T.J. Oshie $6.6K (13G, 10A, 5 PPP, 70 SOG)

Second Line Stack:

Marcus Johansson $5.2K (14G, 15A, 8 PPP, 64 SOG)
Evgeny Kuznetsov $6.6K (5G, 23A, 5 PPP, 79 SOG)
Justin Williams $5.7K (12G, 10A, 5 PPP, 90 SOG)

Chicago’s penalty kill hasn’t been great this season with only a 76.3 percent penalty kill percentage and we could add John Carlson to that first line stack to fill out power play one stack.

On the Chicago end our clear top targets for tournaments are

Artemi Panarin $7.8K (17G, 25A, 14 PPP, 112 SOG)
Artem Anisimov $7K (18G, 13A, 7 PPP, 70 SOG)
Patrick Kane $8.9K (12G, 33A, 13 PPP, 143 SOG)

I would take it a little easy on the Chicago end tonight though. Chicago only averages 2.32 goals per game on the road and Washington has only allowed three goals over their past four games. I list Chicago as a stack tonight because of their potential — they have scored 15 goals over their past four games — and I think we will see some low ownership on the Kane line.

Over his past five games Panarin has two goals and two assists. Over his past four games Kane has one goal and seven assists. Anisimov is the outlier here as he only has two goals in his past six games. I wouldn’t mind dropping Anisimov from the stack and plugging in Seabrook or Keith to fill out a power play one stack tonight.
