Welcome back to the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. Today we’re back with a normal slate of games and have a nice nine-game slate on the docket. There are three teams I want to target heavily in my tournaments:

Chicago Blackhawks @ Colorado Avalanche (Chicago, -175, 5.5 over/under)
Buffalo Sabres @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Toronto, -200, 5.5 over/under)
New Jersey Devils @ Minnesota Wild (Minnesota, -220, 5 over/under)

(The Dallas Stars @ New York Rangers 6 over/under can’t be ignored)*

The game that jumps right off the screen is the Chicago Blackhawks at the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado has allowed 15 goals over their five games in January and have a league-worst 3.32 goals against per game total on the season. In tie games, in 5v5 situations Colorado has xGA/60 of 2.37 — which puts them more in the middle tier of the league rather than the worst tier — which one could assume they would land.  When trailing that number goes down to an xGA/60 of 2.08. But what’s interesting (but expected) is Colorado’s xGF/60 when trailing is so abysmal it shows their opponents can continue to run up the score once they get the lead. Their CA/60 adjusted for score and venue is one of the worst in the league at 61.62. Still, The more I look at the numbers the more I wonder if this game will truly be the blowout it should be … but there are times when we shouldn’t out-think ourselves and go with results:  Colorado has a league-worst 3.43 home goals allowed per game. This is my long-winded way of saying … while some stats lead to me believe that while Chicago should easily get the win, I’m not sure we should expect a huge number tonight. Still, I’m going Chicago heavy tonight:

Artemi Panarin $7.7K (17G, 26A, 14 PPP, 114 SOG)
Artem Anisimov $6.9K (18G, 15A, 7 PPP, 74 SOG)
Patrick Kane $8.6K (14G, 33A, 13 PPP, 160 SOG)

will be a line heavily in my rotation tonight. We can add Duncan Keith or Brent Seabrook to the mix to fill out a power play one stack tonight. Colorado has allowed an NHL third-most 34 power play goals this season and I certainly wouldn’t mind a PP2 stack of Richard Panik/Jonathan Toews/Marian Hossa to differentiate some of my lineups in GPPs.

Tonight I also want plenty of shares of
