Welcome back to the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. We start the week off with a big 14 game slate to work with for our DFS needs. From those 28 teams in action I want to parse it down to three games I am particularly interested in attacking tonight:

Washington Capitals @ New York Islanders (Washington, -140, 5 over/under)
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Dallas Stars (Dallas, -115, 5.5 over/under)
Columbus Blue Jackets @ New York Rangers (New York, -140, 5.5 over/under)

Tonight I want both sides of the Toronto at Dallas game. In January Toronto was fifth in the NHL in scoring with 3.50 goals for per game while Dallas was dead last in goals allowed with 3.58 goals against per game. On the season Dallas has allowed a league third-most 3.12 goals against per game — only Colorado and Arizona are worse. Even when on the road Toronto has averaged 2.96 goals per game — I definitely want to load up on Toronto skaters tonight.

Over their past three games Dallas has allowed four power play goals and this month Dallas is last in the NHL with 15 power play goals allowed.

We can look to Toronto’s power play as a place to start when constructing our lineups tonight:

Leo Komarov $4.6K (8G, 8A, 4 PPP, 60 SOG)
William Nylander $5.5K (10G, 21A, 15 PPP, 117 SOG)
Connor Brown $5.2K (11G, 10A, 2 PPP, 78 SOG)
Auston Matthews $7.9K (23G, 16A, 11 PPP, 163 SOG)
(D) Jake Gardiner $4.7K (6G, 17A, 8 PPP, 75 SOG)

Second Power Play Unit:

James van Riemsdyk $7.7K (17G, 22A, 14 PPP, 132 SOG)
Tyler Bozak $6K (12G, 18A, 10 PPP, 82 SOG)
Mitchell Marner $6.7K (11G, 28A, 116 SOG)
Nazem Kadri $7K (20G, 15A, 14 PPP, 144 SOG)
(D) Morgan Rielly $4.3K  (1G, 16A, 3 PPP, 91 SOG)

If you’re looking to stack an even strength line I would look to the Brown/Hyman/Matthews line. On the season they have accounted for a league eighth-best 19 goals and are a nice value stack for tonight. And there is certainly merit to look to Toronto’s even strength lines as potential stacks as Dallas has a 5v5 xGA/60 of 2.87 at home. Only Arizona has a higher number. That is a common theme here: Dallas is consistently lumped in with some of the worst defensive teams in the NHL — we should attack accordingly.

While I certainly want to load up on Toronto skaters, I do want some shares of
