Welcome to the Friday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. I hope you have had a profitable week. We end the week with a five-game slate to dig through for our daily fantasy hockey needs.

Tonight’s Slate

Minnesota Wild @ New York Rangers (Minnesota, -150, 5.5 over/under)
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Carolina Hurricanes (Pittsburgh, -120, 5.5 over/under)
Winnipeg Jets @ St. Louis Blues (St. Louis, -115, 5.5 over/under)
San Jose Sharks @ Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago, -120, 5.5 over/under)
Vancouver Canucks @ Vegas Golden Knights (Vegas, -260, 6 over/under)

Tonight I’m going to go heavy with the Minnesota Wild. Both teams are on the second nights of back-to-backs but the New York Rangers are in free fall mode now. New York has lost five straight games and this month have allowed a league-worst 4.00 goals against per game — and last night the Rangers traded Michael Grabner to the New Jersey Devils as they are in now in full rebuild mode. Over their past 10 games the Rangers have a CF% of just 47.64 percent, a SCA/60 of 30.25 and a league sixth-worst HDCA/60 of 13.14. Additionally, the Rangers have a league-worst team save percentage of 88.69 percent over the past 10 games. Per Corisca — when adjusted for venue — the Rangers have an NHL sixth-worst xGA/60 of 2.58 in five on five situations.

The Wild have won two straight and this month have scored a league a league ninth-best 3.33 goals for per game. Minnesota’s power play has also clicked at a nice rate of 25 percent this month. While Minnesota’s SCF/60 is only at 26.06 over their past 10 games they have generated plenty of quality chances with a league 11th-best HDCF/60 of 11.81. After beating a tough New Jersey team last night I think Minnesota makes it three in a row in convincing fashions against the Rangers tonight.
