Whichever way we tried to slice it, we kept returning to a stars-and-scrubs approach for Week 4. Thankfully, we have a handful of lower priced options to offset those we deemed necessary to play.
Based on our expected Week 4 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 4 Plays:
Quarterback
Andy Dalton – While we were collectively bullish on Aaron Rodgers – especially at a relative bargain – there is too much potential for him to slow down his passing attack as the game against Buffalo unfolds. Instead, Andy Dalton is expected to be in a relatively high-scoring game and forced to throw. The loss of Joe Mixon for another week allowed Giovani Bernard to thrive, but he does better as a receiver than a true runner, which bodes well for Dalton. At a decent price, Dalton is position to return decent value at his basement, but his ceiling is as high as any one else’s on Sunday.
Deshaun Watson – Deshaun Watson has not quite come back on the same level that we saw from him last season, but he has quietly had two successful fantasy games in a row with over 300 yards passing and multiple touchdown passes. The other huge advantage with using Watson is his running ability – he has rushed for at least 36 yards in each game this year which helps give him a higher weekly floor. If the Texans were in desperation mode last week, it will only be escalated this week now that they are 0-3. This game has sneaky potential to be high-scoring, and the Colts’ defense is nothing to be scared of because, despite their solid numbers, they haven’t faced any particularly prolific offenses like this Texans group is capable of being.
