Not too many stories coming out of the league last night.  Sale had a monster game, a Yankee Rookie hit a home run in his debut.  Those are two stories that we have heard all year so instead of that I’ll give you who I think my starters should be in the The All-Star Game.

Low-Scoring Plays

Nationals @ Cardinals-Everyday Sale pitches you can look forward to Scherzer taking the mound the next day.  Scherzer seems to always have even bigger games the day after Sale has great games.  The Cardinals are not a strong offensive team as we looked at yesterday.  Twenty-first in runs score and .256 batting average as a team.  Scherzer should have a field day striking out batters at will.

Target: Scherzer, Rendon, Murphy

Cubs @ Reds- Arrieta takes the mound for the first time after being called out by the catcher for allowing 7 stolen bases.  Arrieta is the type of head case that will take that personal and use it as energy on the mound.  The catcher was already sent down, so that lets Arrieta know that the ball club has his back and believes in him.  Look for Arrieta to look like him old self and have an All Star performance.

Targets: Arrieta, Rizzo, Baez

High-Scoring Plays

Giants @ Pirates-Samarzjida has had a rough year at 3-9 but if you remember earlier this year he has been getting unlucky draws always pitching against the top teams.  He has no offensive help so I wouldn’t look at his record as a good stat to follow.  However over the last couple of starts he hasn’t faced good teams. He strikes out a ton of batters and should have kept those poor teams low enough to pick up wins but he only picked up 1.  The Pirates always have random games where their offense looks good and they put up 7 plus runs.  Look for that to happen today.

Target:McCutchen, Bell

Phillies @ Mets- Montero is on the mound for the Mets, who was once thought to be the next big thing.  Well he isn’t, he is an average bullpen pitcher at best.  Look for the Phillies to score runs early in this one forcing the Mets to turn to their bullpen.  The Phillies aren’t throwing an ace either as Pivetta takes the mound.  The Mets have been hitting the ball well lately.  Granderson, Bruce, Cabrera and Duda are all hitting home runs and producing for this line up.  This game finished 2-1 the other day and 7-6 last night, Look for the Mets to complete the sweep in a high scoring game.

Targets: Duda, Bruce, Cabrera

Under Value Plays

Verlander-DET-SP-Verlander is always going to be under rated as long as he is under $10,000.  Verlander has potential to score put left and right as he’s one of the best pitchers of this generation.  Cleveland is a great team that has the potential to score runs so Verlander will be a risk, however he is a veteran player and should be able to fight off the power of the Cleveland.

Pomeranz-BOS-SP-Pomeranz has had some good outings his last couple of starts.  He went 5 innings last game but that was after he warmed up and then sat through a rain delay so it was a good start based on the circumstances.  The Blue Jays aren’t a great team but they are still a solid team.  Pomeranz would be a risky play as well but could pay off big as he won’t be highly owned.

Schoop-BAL-2B-Schoop has been one of the most solid players for the Orioles this year who haven fallen off of the earth.  He is batting .297 with 16 home runs and 51 RBI.  He only costs $3800 and playing Tampa Bay Schoop should have a big day at home.

Stanton-MIA-OF-Only $4400  you can get a player thats blasts home runs left and right with 21 on the year.  Playing Milwau
