Not many headlines from the league last night again.  Judge hammered a ball into orbit, and Sale had another huge game.  The Red Sox were actually able to manufacture some runs for Sale for him to pick up the win.

Other than that nothing happened it was just a normal day of baseball.  We have a full slate of games so let’s dive in.

Low-Scoring Plays

Boston Red Sox @ L.A. Angels – David Price gets the call for Boston who shut down the Angels last night.  Price is averaging 5.8 strikeouts per game, while averaging 6.1 innings per game.  His last 5 starts have been incredible and a lot better than he would ever be this season.  I thought he would make two appearances and be shut down for the year.  Well he is here and pitching well so take him.

Targets: Pedroia, Price, Betts

Chicago White Sox @ Kansas City Royals –  Vargas takes the mound for the Royals who is having a great year at 12-4.  The Royals have climbed back into the playoff hunt,  as the White Sox are in total rebuild mode so they should be shut down in this game.  He doesn’t strike out a ton of batters but he goes far into ball games which will offset the lack of strikeouts.  The White Sox are done this year so Vargas should be a good play.

Targets: Vargas, Moustakas

High-Scoring Plays

New York Yankees @ Seattle Mariners – The Yankees are looking to build off of their win from last night, and Judge’s moonshot of a home run.  It won’t be easy for them to pick up the win as Tanaka is on the mound.  He wasn’t terrible in his last outing as he went deep into the ballgame against the Red Sox.  He is having a rough year so don’t put up your eggs in his basket.  Look for Cano and Cruz to have the moonshots tonight.

Washington Nationals @ Arizona Diamondbacks – Two of the best offenses in the National League square off in this game.  Washington has been playing lights out since the All-Star Break and should have a huge day today.  The Diamondbacks show some power numbers as well so they should be able to keep up in this one.  It’s going to come down to Goldschmidt and Harper which one can outperform the other.  Playing at home I like Goldschmidt as the play and he should have a big day.  The Nationals have a better line up but going across the country messing with the time zones makes me wants to side with D-Backs.

Targets: Goldschmidt, Owings
