Inside The Numbers

All Odds are of September 6th @ 12 AM EST via DraftKings Sportsbook, Please Review Any Line Movement & Use Proper Judgement.

The Spread: Bears (+7, -115) @ Rams (-7, -105)
2020 CHI 8-9 (includes playoffs)
2020 LAR 10-8 (includes playoffs)

The last time these two teams meet was in LA with the Rams winning and covering. In fact, the Rams won the last two games and easily covered the spreads of 6.5 and 5, respectfully.  Overall, Chicago and L.A. have been split when it comes to the spread.  This number of 7 is the second-highest (CHI -9.5 in 2009) with the Bears covering 3 of 4 of those spreads only failing to cover the 2009 number.

Money Line (ML):Bears (+290) @ Rams (-380)
2020  CHI ML 8-9 (5-4 Away)
2020 LAR ML 11-7 (6-2 Home)

When it comes to straight-up games, the Bears take it as they are 6-3 in the last nine meetings dating back to 2006, they have lost their last two — both away — and have won three times on the road — all in St. Louis — with the last game being won in 2015.  The Rams are on a mini-winning streak as they did win the last two games easily — both at home.

Over 43.5 (-110) / Under 43.5 (-110)
2020 CHI Over 8-9
2020 LAR Over 6-12

When these two teams meet one thing should come to mind…defense.  Only once has the over / under touched 50+ and that’s was in 2018. Other than that the second-highest was 46.  Points will be at a premium for sure this Sunday night in L.A. The UNDER is 6-3 overall with the average total right at 43.5 (Sunday’s Number) with the under hitting in the past 3 games.

Trends To Watch

Chicago Bears

The Spread: Bears (+7, -115) @ Rams (-7, -105) – Read Mario’s against-the-spread article here

Money Line (ML): Bears (+290) @ Rams (-380)
The Rams will be opening up their stadium this season again but with fans this year. They are only the better team on the offensive side of the ball.  The Bears have the slight edge on the defensive side but McVay is going to love his new QB and unleash him.  If you haven’t already heard by our live streams we are also on board with Stafford to win the league MVP at +2000.  The Bears are going to need to put up points to win this game and Andy Dalton is going to struggle to do so where Stafford might need to only put up 20-24 points and win.  Unfortunately, the -380 is way too high of a price to pay but I do think the Rams will win and win easily.
THE PICK: PASS

Over 43.5 (-110) / Under 43.5 (-110)
Historically, as mentioned the under has been the way to go, going below six of the nine times.  It also has hit well under as five of the six times have been under the number by 10+ points.  Both teams will have top-10 possible top-5 defenses this season and with this being the first game for both quarterbacks for their new team (Dalton for Chicago and Stafford for L.A.). It’s going to be a feeling-out process for them both. I’m loving the under and where it sits I would pay it as low as 42 as well.
THE PICK: UNDER 43.5, -110
