Last week, we needed to dive deep to put together a list of trustworthy wide receivers. This time, we had to cut players. What changed?

The salaries of some of the running backs we are targeting are so incredibly cheap that nearly anything is possible with our rosters. For that reason, a ‘stars-and-scrubs’ approach to Week 2 is arguably the only way to proceed. Thankfully, there are a few stars that are poised to explode.

Based on our expected Week 2 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.

Tom Brady – While we often pride ourselves on finding inexpensive options at the quarterback positions, sometimes we need to pay a premium for the best. Sunday is one of those times. Tom Brady will be returning to action after losing the season opener on national television without throwing a single touchdown. As an added bonus, he will face one of the most porous defenses in the league – one that allowed 470 total yards in Week 1 after averaging only 315 yards-per-game in 2016. Brady is the must-start quarterback of the week, and his high price tag is worth the investment – in fact, he is only slightly more expensive than the field.
