Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. Tonight we have a seven-game slate to dig through for our daily fantasy hockey purposes. I see a clear top three we should target on tonight’s slate:

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Carolina Hurricanes (Columbus, -120, 5 over/under)
Detroit Red Wings @ Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago -200, 5.5 over/under)
Philadelphia Flyers @ Buffalo Sabres (Philadelphia, -115, 5.5 over/under)

Even with the end of their crazy 16 game win streak and subsequent two losses in a row, it’s difficult to not to include Columbus as a top play tonight. Columbus was able to secure a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia on Jan. 8 and perhaps the emotional let down of the win streak coming to end has subsided and we’ll get back to Blue Jackets we know. But let’s look at the numbers to guide us:

It truly has been a tale of two months for Columbus (granted we’re not even half way through January):

December:

Goals For Per Game: 3.86 — second in the NHL
Goals Against Per Game: 1.79 — first in the NHL
Power Play Goals: 13 — fourth in the NHL
Power Play Percentage: 27.1 percent — fourth in the NHL

January (through four games)

Goals For Per Game: 2.25
Goals Against Per Game: 3.00
Power Play Goals: 3
Power Play Percentage: 21.4 percent
