Tonight we have an eight-game NHL slate to work with for our daily fantasy hockey needs. There are plenty of teams that make great stacks tonight:
Dallas Stars @ N.Y. Islanders (even, 5.5 over/under)
Washington Capitals @ St. Louis Blues (Washington, -135, 5 over/under)
Arizona Coyotes @ Minnnesota Wild (Minnesota, -290, 5 over/under)
Colorado Avalanche @ Anaheim Ducks (Anaheim, -257, 5.5 over/under)
Ottawa Senators @ Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, -170, 5.5 over/under)
N.Y Rangers @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Toronto, -115, 6 over/under)
While I want to keep all of those bolded teams in mind when I look to one offs to fill out my lineups, I want to take it down to the top three I’ll look to load up on in my tournaments tonight:
N.Y Rangers @ Toronto Maple Leafs
Arizona Coyotes @ Minnnesota Wild
The game I want to target the most tonight is the New York Rangers at the Toronto Maple Leafs and that 6 over/under. This month Toronto has scored an NHL second-most 4.14 goals per game and have allowed an NHL eighth-most 3.43 goals against per game. In January New York has scored a fifth-most 3.83 goals per game and have allowed an NHL second-worst 4.33 goals per game. We should see plenty of goals in this one.
At home, with the scored tied in 5v5 situations, Toronto has an xGF/60 of 3.31 — the most in the NHL. With the same adjustments they also have a league-best CF/60 67.35. To that end, I’m going to load up on all three Toronto even strength lines tonight:
Line 1:
James van Riemsdyk $7.5K (16G, 20A, 13 PPP, 115 SOG)
Tyler Bozak $5.5K (10G, 18A, 9 PPP, 76 SOG)
Mitchell Marner $6.5K (10G, 26A, 12 PPP, 108 SOG)
Line 2:
Leo Komarov $4.6K (8G, 7A, 4 PPP, 54 SOG)
Nazem Kadri $6.7K (18G, 11A, 12 PPP, 132 SOG)
William Nylander $5.6K (9G, 20A, 15 PPP, 98 SOG)
Line 3:
Zach Hyman $4.9K (5G, 14A, 95 SOG)
Auston Matthews $7.8K (22G, 16A, 11 PPP, 148 SOG)
Connor Brown $5.4K (11G, 10A, 2 PPP, 72 SOG)
On the other side of the game we have
