In what is one of our most balanced list of daily fantasy targets, Week 12 features a nice combination of both value and expected production. Even when ‘paying up’ for a player, it appears worth the high price tag given either the matchup or circumstances. Conversely, bargains can be found throughout the slate.

Of course, the varied methods of attack yield a higher number of lineup combinations, so the list of targets is larger than usual. With that, any strategy could be implemented, as building a lineup around a few key players is certainly possible in Week 12.

Based on our expected Week 12 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.

Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 12 Plays:

Quarterback

Cam Newton – After facing the Rams and Chiefs in back-to-back weeks, the Panthers caught a scheduling break by going against the weak defenses of New Orleans and Oakland in Weeks 11 and 12, respectively. The latter brings another opportunity for the Panthers to try to salvage their season while we can buy back into Cam Newton in a rather desperate state against a horrible secondary. It appears to be extremely likely that the Panthers either jump out to a quick lead or get locked in a shootout with Oakland. Both scenarios yield a big fantasy output from Newton.

Jared Goff – We tend to write about the twofold fantasy reasons for targeting players against the Raiders, but the same applies to going against the Saints. That is, New Orleans’ defense is so poor that the matchup is always in the opposing offense’s favor and Drew Brees and the Saints score so much that it forces opponents into a state of frenzy to try to catch up. For an extremely low price, owning rookie quarterback Jared Goff – after he had to deal with Miami’s stout secondary – presents a big opportunity to ride the upswing in production.
